Schoenherr advises Elan Corporation, plc, a biotechnology company headquartered in Ireland and listed on the New York and Irish Stock Exchanges (NYSE: ELN) on the acquisition of 100 % of AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals AG, Vienna. Completion of the transaction is inter alia conditional upon Elan shareholder approval. |

Austria: Schoenherr and Wien Energie enter climate protection partnership
Schoenherr, a leading corporate law firm in Central and Eastern Europe, and Wien Energie, the municipal energy service provider in Vienna, have entered into a partnership to promote climate protection (Klimaschutzpartnerschaft). By using Wien Energie’s environmentally-friendly district heating technology, Schoenherr was able to lower its CO2 emissions by 213 tonnes this past year. This reduction, which was certified by the Technical University of Vienna, corresponds to the annual fuel consumption of a fleet of around 180 company cars with an average mileage of 15,000 kilometres and 120 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometre. |

Austria/Romania/CEE: Schoenherr strengthens tax focus with hirings in Austria and Romania
Schoenherr, a leading corporate law firm in Central and Eastern Europe, is strengthening its offering in tax law and advisory services in Austria and Romania by hiring a team of well-established tax experts. Michaela Petritz-Klar has joined Schoenherr as a tax partner in its Vienna office, while Theodor Artenie, Oana Manuceanu and Mihaela Popescu provide tax consulting services through Schoenherr Tax Bucharest SRL, a newly-launched separate legal entity affiliated with the firm's Bucharest office. Building on these appointments, Schoenherr plans to further expand its offerings in the area by also establishing tax teams in Poland and Serbia during the course of next year. |

Austria: Schoenherr advises NOVOMATIC on acquisition of majority stake in I-NEW
Schoenherr, a leading corporate law firm in Central and Eastern Europe, advised NOVOMATIC AG, one of the world's largest producers and operators of gaming technologies, in connection with its investment in I-NEW Unified Mobile Solutions AG. Following the 19 April 2013 signing, NOVOMATIC’s acquisition of a 50.097 percent stake in I-NEW is expected to close in around two months. The parties agreed to keep the financial terms of the transaction confidential. |

Croatia: Schoenherr advises on privatization of Croatian Postal Bank (HPB)
Schoenherr, a leading full-service corporate law firm in Central and Eastern Europe, is serving as legal advisor in the privatization and recapitalization of Croatian Postal Bank (Hrvatska poštanska banka d.d., widely known under its acronym HPB), the largest majority state-owned bank in Croatia.
