Austria/Central Europe: Further expansion of Österreichische Post AG into CEE
Schoenherr has advised listed Österreichische Post AG in connection with the ac-quisition of a 26% stake in Romanian PostMaster s.r.l. (including an option to acquire the remaining 74% stake within two years).
PostMaster’s core business comprises addressed and unaddressed advertising mail services. PostMaster is also a leading provider of alternative postal services on the Romanian market. The company currently employs approx. 100 employees and 1,500 freelancers and delivered more than 100 million pieces of mail in 2010.
In 2010, Österreichische Post AG generated a turnover of approx. EUR 2.35 billion. Already holding subsidiaries in Hungary, Slovakia and Croatia, its participation in PostMaster further strengthens Österreichische Post AG’s position in the CEE region.
