Romania: Schoenherr Partner Elected Bucharest Stock Exchange Board Member

Narcisa, who heads the capital markets team of Schoenherr in Romania, ran as an independent. The board of BSE has been elected in the beginning of the new year and currently holds 9 members.

“I am honoured by the trust of the shareholders and l look forward to this new responsibility. My main objectives are: higher standards of corporate governance among listed companies, improved dialogue with the Romanian Government, and also clearer and more flexible regulations for the Stock Exchange”, says Narcisa.

Narcisa, who joined Schoenherr in May 2008 to head the Romanian Capital Markets team, has over 13 years of experience in Capital Markets.  She has acted on various landmark listings and transactions, and has been involved, among others, in the listing of Fondul Proprietatea, the listing of Transelectrica and the listing of Transgaz. Prior to joining Schoenherr Narcisa was head of the capital markets practice at a Romanian law firm, and until 2002 she was Head of Legal at the Bucharest Stock Exchange, where she was involved in drafting the capital markets legal framework. In addition, Narcisa is lecturing a Capital Markets course at the Romanian Banking Institute and is a certified trainer for brokers and investment advisors.

Schoenherr Bucharest received an award for leading capital markets law firm from Romanian Brokers Association at the end of 2011.
