New block exemption from the European Commission in the insurance sector. On 1 April 2010, the European Commission’s new block exemption regulation entered into force regarding the application of Art. 101, Section 3 AEUV to certain groups of agreements, contracts and agreed performance guidelines in the insurance sector. The new regulation brings substantial changes relative to the previous legal situation, which will lead to a re-evaluation and adaptation of existing practices.
