Serbia: Competition Authority's regional cooperation

In November 2017 the Competition Authority intensified its activities regarding regional cooperation. Representatives of the authority met with colleagues from the Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and attended conferences organised by the competition authorities of Romania and Croatia.

As a further step towards regional cooperation, there is a plan to establish the Competition Forum of the Western Balkans. The aim is to facilitate cooperation, enhance harmonisation between regional authorities and improve national legislation.

The Serbian Competition Authority is one the most active in the region, with the largest number of cases. The Foreign Investors Council's 2017 White Book indicated that the authority had significantly improved its work and made efforts regarding the reform of competition regulations and advocacy.
