Austria: Schoenherr named "Austria Law Firm of the Year" by Chambers

The winners were announced on 24 April in a digital ceremony, and managing partner Michael Lagler and partner Roman Perner remotely accepted the award on behalf of the Austrian Schoenherr office.

"Being named Austrian Law Firm of the Year confirms what we see and hear in our daily business – that Schoenherr is an exceptional law firm with both local and CEE-wide expertise. The numerous significant deals on which Schoenherr Austria has advised cover several legal areas, as well as jurisdictions. Headline deals on which Schoenherr advised in Austria in 2019 include UNIQA on the EUR 1bln acquisition of AXA subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia and Covivio on its EUR 573m acquisition of eight luxury hotels from Värde Partners. "We are proud to look back on many successful headline deals across all our practice groups", partner, head of tax and co-head of the corporate/m&a group Roman Perner said. "It is great to see this competence, a result of incomparable cooperation within international Schoenherr teams, being recognised".
