Martin joined Schoenherr in 2002 as an attorney at law, and his passion for finance and financial services regulation has been growing steadily ever since. Today he is a partner, which means he not only advises banks and financial services providers on various legal matters, but also leads a continuously growing team of lawyers. When he's not providing legal advice, he likes to spend his time skiing powder snow or cycling (during the non-ski season).
Hi, I'm Martin.
I am a passionate father and a partner at Schoenherr.
My day usually starts with bringing my kids to school, followed by a coffee or two at the office. Most of my colleagues then arrive, and normally we spend a big part of our day communicating with clients, preparing meetings and working on solutions to their challenges. I like to use my lunchbreak to catch up with colleagues or clients, and in the afternoon mandate work continues. Every now and then, we travel to international conferences or meetings, which I appreciate, too. And on the weekends, I spend my time with my family.
Like every lawyer, one of my milestones was of course passing the bar exam. And only about six years later, I got to celebrate the next huge one: becoming a partner at Schoenherr. On the client-side, I got to advise on some major deals, for example as lead counsel on the then largest financial restructuring in Central Europe about ten years ago.
My team! I love working with such bright minds, and I can see that we all enjoy what we do – helping our clients navigate the legal challenges of running a business. I'm also proud to say that even though being a partner comes with a lot of work and responsibility, I get some 30 ski days a year in.
