Schoenherr advised the Dornbirn-based start-up ContexMesh Bewehrungen GmbH on a EUR 2.65m financing round.
Headquartered in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, ContexMesh develops innovative non-metallic reinforcement solutions for concrete construction, offering sustainable alternatives to conventional steel reinforcement. The company's product portfolio includes non-metallic reinforcement solutions made from carbon fibre, alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibre and basalt fibre. These products are used in the rehabilitation of concrete infrastructure, the precast concrete sector, new construction projects and concrete 3D printing.
The company's technological foundation is the result of more than 14 years of intensive research and development. Through this strong scientific basis and close collaboration with universities, ContexMesh has built market-leading expertise in the fields of materials science, structural design and engineering.
The investment will support ContexMesh's mission to advance sustainable construction. In particular, the funding will be used to further develop and commercialise the company's non-metallic reinforcement products in line with its current business plan.
"Non-metallic reinforcement has moved from research niche to commercial reality and ContexMesh is leading that transition," said Schoenherr Partner Thomas Kulnigg. "We are proud to have supported them on this milestone financing round."
"ContexMesh combines an exceptionally strong R&D foundation with a clear commercial path," remarked Dominik Tyrybon, who led the day-to-day advisory work on the transaction. "It was a pleasure to advise the team on structuring this round and we look forward to following their growth across the EU."
The Schoenherr team was led by Thomas Kulnigg (Partner) and Dominik Tyrybon (Attorney at Law), who were supported by Maximilian Czernin (Attorney at Law) and Nikolaus Vetter (Associate).
Ithuba Capital acted as financial advisor to ContexMesh.
