Austria: Schoenherr advises Symfonia on acquisition of Austrian software company dvo

Schoenherr advised the Polish ERP producer, Symfonia., backed by American investor Accel-KKR, on the acquisition of the 100 % share in dvo Beteiligungs-GmbH, including its subsidiary dvo Software Entwicklungs- und Vertriebs-GmbH. This marks Symfonia's market entry into the DACH region.

Symfonia is a trusted Central European software company with over 30 years of heritage, headquartered in Warsaw, Poland. It supports more than 55,000 companies and accounting offices across Central Europe with business-critical ERP, finance, payroll, and HR solutions, serving as a backbone for their daily operations. The acquisition of dvo marks another strategic step in Symfonia's growth strategy.

dvo is an Austrian software company specialising in digital solutions for tax advisors and accounting professionals, with a well-established customer base and long-standing market presence.

Schoenherr acted as lead legal counsel to Symfonia and provided comprehensive legal advice throughout all stages of the transaction, including on the transaction structure, legal due diligence, and the drafting, negotiation and implementation of the transaction documentation. The transaction was completed in October 2026 after the fulfilment of customary closing conditions.

"We are pleased to have supported Symfonia on this important strategic acquisition. The transaction demonstrates the continued appeal of the Austrian technology market and reflects the ongoing consolidation of the European business software sector. We look forward to seeing Symfonia continue its successful expansion," said Daniel Wadl (Counsel), who led the Schoenherr transaction team.

The Schoenherr team further included Georg Winkler (Associate), Alexandra Jelinek (Associate), Daniela Birnbauer (Attorney at Law), Clemens Rainer (Partner), Yvonne Kraudinger (Attorney at Law), Teresa Waidmann (Partner), Sylwia Gorzkowska (Associate), Nina Zafoschnig (Counsel), Volker Weiss (Partner) and Marko Jakšić (Associate).
