EFELA | Pioneering the future: Introducing a new framework for Europe's hydrogen and gas market decarbonisation

The European Federation of Energy Law Associations (EFELA) will host a conference at the European Commission's Brussels headquarters on 3 June 2025, focusing on the future of hydrogen and gas market decarbonisation.

Experts from national authorities, academia, key industry players, and law firms will discuss best practices and challenges in implementing hydrogen policy across Europe. The conference, which is co-organised by and features representatives of the European Commission, centers around a harmonised legal framework to support Europe’s clean energy future.

• In session one (10:00 am), Schoenherr partner and co-organiser of the event Bernd Rajal will speak on "Key elements of the hydrogen and gas markets decarbonisation package." He will provide an overview of the main components of the package and compare the new hydrogen market framework with the existing (updated) rules for natural gas and electricity.
  
  
• In session three (11:00 am), he will join a panel discussion on best practices and challenges in the package’s national implementation.
