Helena. The strength of coming back: a conversation with Hanna Lis
Join us for the third edition of Helena, a series of meetings hosted by Schoenherr, dedicated to conversations with extraordinary women whose professional journeys, courage, and influence continue to inspire.
This year, we are pleased to welcome you to the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, where, in the cinema hall, we will hear a conversation with Hanna Lis — Polish TV journalist and presenter, born in 1970 in Warsaw. She launched her broadcast career in 1992 at Telewizja Polska, going on to anchor flagship news programs such as Wiadomości and Panorama, before moving into lifestyle television with travel shows and talk-shows. She is also known for her active social engagement.
This year's conversation centers on the strength of bouncing back and rebuilding a career from scratch, on preserving your own voice and professional credibility under public pressure and criticism, and on using media recognition to support other women.

Named after Helena Wiewiórska, the first woman admitted to the Polish bar, the Helena series brings together women leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs across Poland, Austria, and Romania, fostering dialogue across professional and cultural backgrounds.

Biography
Hanna Lis is a Polish journalist, television presenter, and social activist whose career of over three decades exemplifies consistency, courage, and independent decision-making. She began her career in 1992 at TVP, hosting Poland's leading news programs - "Wiadomości" and "Panorama" - and became one of the country's most recognizable journalists. In 2016, she made the bold decision to leave public television, opening a new chapter in lifestyle television, where she now hosts travel programs and talk shows. Alongside her media career, she is actively involved in numerous social initiatives, championing women's voices in public life and sharing her experience of building a career on her own terms.
Following the conversation, guests are invited to the opening and private viewing of the Alina Szapocznikow exhibition, accompanied by refreshments and wine.
