Hungary: Schoenherr supports MET Group in purchase of 520,000 sqm of project land in Kaba
Schoenherr advised Oberon Solar Park Kft, a subsidiary of the Switzerland-based MET Group, on its acquisition of 52 hectares of land located in Kaba, Eastern Hungary. The transaction was executed as a share deal and will enable MET Group to construct the so-called Kaba2 project.
MET Group also announced that the development of its new 21 MW (AC) capacity solar park using AI tools has already begun. Kaba1 was constructed in 2021 and has been operating at a capacity of 43 MW (AC).
Headquartered in Switzerland, MET Group is an integrated European energy company operating in the natural gas, power and oil markets. By way of its subsidiaries, the company is present in 15 countries, 26 national gas markets and 22 international trading hubs.
The seller is a local agricultural entrepreneur and was advised by a sole practitioner.
The Schoenherr team was led by Laszlo Krüpl (partner) and further consisted of Viktória Magyar (associate) on the transactional side, while the due diligence process was overseen by Gergely Horváth (attorney at law) and Adrián Menczelesz (attorney at law).
