Forbes Austria recently published an article featuring Schoenherr experts Marco Thorbauer and Tobias Hayden outlining that In 2025, Austria will focus on austerity, with the new government planning budget cuts of over six billion euros. Measures to ease the burden on businesses, such as lower payroll taxes, are not expected before 2027. At the same time, tax audits will intensify, and an immediate exit tax will be introduced. Private foundations will face higher taxes and stricter transparency rules. Only limited opportunities arise, mainly through new regulations for start-ups and intangible assets.
