CEE: Schoenherr wins four Deal of the Year awards from CEE Legal Matters

Schoenherr was awarded for advising on these transactions in 2019:

• Bulgaria: United Group’s EUR 1.2 bln acquisition of Vivacom, the largest telecoms operator in Bulgaria. The Schoenherr Sofia team advising United Group in this transaction was led by Ilko Stoyanov, a partner in the Schoenherr Sofia corporate/m&a practice, Slaven Moravčević, partner in Schoenherr's Belgrade corporate/m&a practice, led the international aspects of the transaction.
• Croatia: United Group’s acquisition of TELE2, where an international Schoenherr team led by Alexander Popp, (partner, Austria), Manuel Ritt-Huemer (attorney at law, Austria), Michael Marschall (attorney at law, Austria), and Ivan Einwalter (attorney at law, Croatia), assisted TELE2 Group.
• Montenegro: Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka’s acquisition of a majority stake in Societe Generale Banka Montenegro. Matija Vojnović, office managing partner for Serbia, led the team at Moravčević, Vojnović and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr advising Societe Generale in this deal, together with Jones Day Paris (Alexandre de Verdun).
• North Macedonia: Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen’s acquisition of Societe Generale's shares in Ohridska Banka Societe Generale. Slaven Moravčević a partner in Schoenherr's Belgrade corporate/m&a practice, led the team at Moravčević, Vojnović and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr assisting Societe Generale in this deal, together with Jones Day Paris (Alexandre de Verdun).

CEE Legal Matters' CEE Deal of the Year Awards recognise the largest and most important deals in Central and Eastern Europe. Law firms are nominated based on deals submitted for consideration. A two-tiered panel of prominent lawyers from across the region evaluates the submissions based on deal complexity, size, and market significance. This year, a total of 151 law firms from around the world were shortlisted.
