13 November 2017 | press releases

Schoenherr is leveraging its start-up and venture capital expertise by advising Dutch capital investment firm Endeit Capital as lead investor in a EUR 9m Series B financing round for Austrian tour booking platform TourRadar.

"As trusted advisor to both investors and start-ups, Schoenherr has developed an all-rounded expertise supporting regional innovators at various stages in their development," explained Schoenherr corporate m&a partner Thomas Kulnigg. "We were proud to advise Endeit Capital on funding TourRadar as this project is a testament to our commitment to the start-up scene and innovation in the region," concluded Kulnigg who heads the start-up service at Schoenherr.

Endeit Capital became the new lead investor in TourRadar by acquiring a minority stake in the Austrian company. Schoenherr supported Endeit Capital alongside tax advisor LeitnerLeitner on this financing round, while TourRadar was advised by Herbst Kinsky. The funding will allow TourRadar to accelerate its expansion by doubling its staff in Vienna, Brisbane and Toronto, with a focus on tech and product development. Launched in 2010, TourRadar pioneered the transformation to digitise the touring industry, allowing travellers to compare and book multi-day tours online for the first time.

On the start-up side, Schoenherr recently advised Austrian start-up investor relations platform Investory in securing seed funding from several investors, incl. Munich-based fund Vito One (advised by Herbst Kinsky), Pioneers Ventures, Austrian business angel Hansi Hansmann, Startup 300, and Hermann Hauser Investments. Additionally this year, Schoenherr led the financing rounds of the start-ups Mikme (audio technology), Diagnosia (health tech), Playbrush (consumer products), and Ivary (former "Juno Fertility"; health tech).

Schoenherr team advising on these transactions consisted of Thomas Kulnigg (partner, corporate/m&a), Clemens Rainer (attorney at law, corporate/m&a), Sascha Smets (associate, corporate/m&a), Dominik Hofmarcher (attorney at law, ip, it & life sciences), Veronika Wolfbauer (attorney at law, regulatory), and Teresa Waidmann (associate, labour & employment).
