Montenegro about to get EU-shaped FDI regime
On 30 July 2026, the Montenegrin Government adopted the Proposal for the Establishment of an Effective FDI Screening Mechanism in Montenegro (the "Proposal"), prepared in accordance with EU standards. The Proposal will serve as the basis for a new special law on FDI and implementing bylaws regulating this area.

Moravčević Vojnović and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr advised the Finance Parties (Merrill Lynch International, MUFG Bank, Société Générale, OTP Bank, Erste Group, AKA Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft and Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg) on a EUR 450m facility agreement with the State of Montenegro as borrower.
